How to dress a child in Autumn?

I honestly admit that autumn is not my favorite season. The weather changes too quickly. While I still remember perfectly the pleasant warmth of the summer sun, I am suddenly surprised by the gray autumn sky and the coolness of the mornings. But there's nothing wrong with that... you need to be properly prepared for each challenge. I know that as parents you are afraid that the autumn weather will harm your children. However, they cannot be kept under a cloche. Therefore, I will tell you how to dress your child for a walk in autumn.

The child's outfit should be selected appropriately to his/her age and the temperature outside. You will prepare differently for an autumn walk with a baby than with a several-year-old. Children who cannot walk are usually transported in a stroller, which ensures maximum comfort for them during naps. Dress your baby in layers, remembering that in this case you should put on one more layer than an adult. To protect your child from the wind, don't forget about a comfortable hat and a stroller footmuff that will offer the ultimate protection from wind and wet conditions outside.

In turn, a toddler or preschooler needs comfortable clothing for autumn walks that will not only protect him/her from the cold, but also will not restrict his/her movements. I know from experience that little ones are full of energy and are not afraid of autumn rain. Therefore, I will only give you some advice on how to dress your child for a walk in the fall, leaving you to consider how to motivate yourself to do so.

Do children get bored when it rains? Not necessarily!

Finding the motivation for an autumn walk can be really difficult when there is wind or rain outside. Meanwhile, for children, an autumn walk is an excellent opportunity to increase their immunity. At the same time, the kids usually have fun. You no longer have to worry about how to dress your child in autumn. Are you afraid that your clothes will quickly get wet when your child decides to go down a wet slide or sit on a wet swing? I know a way. Softshell fabrics are the perfect solution for autumn, which prevents your clothes from accidentally getting wet. The material from which softshell jackets and trousers are made is perfect for outdoor activities, regardless of the weather. The membrane that covers the fabric protects the child against rain and wind. In addition, softshell is a "breathable" material, thanks to which moisture evaporates outside. The child will not feel cold, even after intense physical exercise. All you need is a set - a jacket and softshell trousers - combined with comfortable rain boots, so that your little one can fully enjoy the charms of autumn, which will undoubtedly be all the puddles he encounters.

Autumn winds can be really unpleasant, so I encourage you to wear hats for your children. Ear cold is a real danger to children's health. To prevent this, it is worth wearing appropriate headgear in windy weather. I recommend hats made of natural materials. The cotton hat with elastin is flexible, so it covers the ears well and does not slide down on the child's forehead. In addition, the natural fabric protects the head from discomfort when the baby sweats. Cotton yarn perfectly wicks away moisture. The youngest children are exposed to irritation and allergic reactions. Therefore, check whether the fabric from which the hat is made has the appropriate certificates.

I know that some mothers avoid hats, wanting to toughen up their child. However, I believe that the frequency and intensity of walks has a much better impact on this. That's why I encourage you to actively spend time with your child outdoors.
